The main attraction in Portsmouth is the Historic Ships exhibition. The exhibit is centred on three famous naval vessels. Other maritime attractions include tours of a modern day frigate, Submarine World, the D-Day Museum and the Royal Marines Museum.

Historical forts include Spitbank Fort, Fort Widley, Southsea Castle and ancient Portchester Castle. In the Old Portsmouth district, you can also see the Round and Square Towers.

The Southsea area offers a traditional seaside promenade as well as many restaurants, bars, pubs and nightclubs. You may even want to visit the cultural venues such as theatres and art centres while in Southsea.
